These pocket-sized paintings are beautiful, aren't they? I love this projection. It is perfect for whatsoever age (we had ages two to 12 painting these sweetness petty gems), and the white edge is and so striking and high-sounding it just makes me happy. Truly, you could accept the ugliest footling painting but when that tape comes off information technology becomes a Rothko or an O'Keefe. It's magical!
Supplies:
Watercolors (we used our awesome new set from Vilac, but yous can also utilize these which we apply all the time in art course)
Tape (I tried both painter'south tape and washi to like effect)
Brushes (i like this mixed pack with palette)
Sponge
Watercolor paper (i buy bigger and so cut to 4 ten 6)
Record down a piece of newspaper for each person (our border is nearly 1/iv″). I put out newspaper but you could hands tape information technology to another piece of paper so it'southward movable, or direct to your piece of work surface. This is not a messy projection, the newspaper was really in that location but to protect the table from the tape. We did several variations on the small-scale theme: pocket-sized portraits, small withal lifes and pocket-size abstracts. (For more than in depth instruction on using watercolors with kids, you tin can read my post here.) The only dominion was to embrace all of the newspaper with pigment. (This makes for a more dramatic white border!)
Once they are dry, sloooowwwwly peel off the tape. And so, voila! Y'all take cute art to hang in your abode.
Enjoy this project…and you lot should make i, too! Leave the supplies out for a day or two and brand many paintings and then that you tin can hang them all up together.
